Build: White Picket Fence

Hello, all! I've been posting a lot of Donners recently, but I built this house a few months ago and I'm super proud of it. I wanted to share it with you all. Hopefully it will inspire you! I have two alternate versions of this house, so the basic one will be shown first, then the more "decked out" alternate one will be shown. I haven't currently uploaded anything to the internet since I'm not sure if the old exchange is open? I should probably check out Mediafire one of these days.... If you want to see a bigger copy, just click on the picture.
Well, enjoy!
The name is very unoriginal.

The front view of the main house. It's pretty much a large rectangle with an octagonal turret-like structure on our right.
The garage is separate from the house, but it has a side door.
The side door and the walkway to the main porch.
This is a more complete view of the main porch with the front door there.
This is the layout of the first floor. The big red floor is the entryway/stair room. The upside down U shape is the kitchen, the dining table is in the little alcove top left. Directly across is a door to the little mini porch with a grill. The dark rectangular stuff across from the kitchen is the sitting area.
Better view of the front door. Don't mind the papers.
 Entryway from the main house.
 Front door and stairwell.
 View from the stairs.
 Sitting area.
From the sitting area towards the kitchen.
Kitchen and you can glimpse the dining alcove.
 The rest of the kitchen.
The dining alcove. It's quite tight, but I'm pretty sure sims can sit all the way around it.
From the dining table to the random sofas I put along the wall.
 That's the porch door.
From the dining area to the sitting area with the stairs in the back.
View one of the back porch.
 View two.
 Layout of the second floor.
 Stair way.
From the stairs into a little reading area. Also, like a family room if the downstairs is a living room. (What's the difference?) The double doors are to the master bedroom.
To the left of the room. The door on the left is a bathroom, the right is an empty room.
To the right of the room. The door on the left is an empty room, the right is a bathroom.
Bookshelf, master bedroom doors and easel.
 A little study/computer area.
A final look at the study room. It might be my favorite room in the house. Other than the smaller of the spare rooms.
This is the first view of the master bedroom, the direct right of the door. That door in the wall goes to the bathroom.
This is the bed. It's directly above the dining table.
 View from the bed.
The other side of the room is another little sitting area. I have a ridiculous number of those.
This is the bathtub in the master bathroom.
 Opposite the bath tub.
A closer look at the sink and such.
Right next to the tub is a shower.
This is the smaller of the spare rooms, over the front porch, facing the road.
The other corner. The door to the main room is past the left edge of the picture.
This is the other spare room, over the back porch.
I really like how much natural light is in these rooms.
It's a very nice change from how dark the main room is.
This is the bathroom next to the bigger spare room.
This is the bathroom next to the smaller main room, at the front of the house.
This is the basic garage. Two cars, inventing table, shower in case of fire, and sculpting thing.
 The two doors.
 The rear of the garage.
This is a look from the back porch and clothes line to the back yard.
It's quite empty, but I like the chairs under the tree. I think EA did a good job designing them.
Now is when we get into the alternate version. This one is more lived in and I kept expanding and adding to it as my family grew and I got pissed off with not having enough hampers everywhere.
The garage is placed differently and it might be longer. It definitely has a small upstairs flat and an extensive downstairs basement.
The back also got a make over. It now has sunflowers and a grave from when a kid got hit by a meteor.
This is the layout of the flat. The deck is about half the size of the room.
 Stair well.
Behind the curtain is the bathroom. All it has is a light, a shower, and a toilet. Very minimalist.
The small kitchenette. And the fridge is giving off a nasty odour!
Small dining table and a couch.
Front wall and deck. It has a chess table and a lounge or two.
Bed, book case, and ridiculous potted plant.
This is the basement of the garage. It has a club area, a pub area, and a gym thing that is more for miscellaneous objects than anything else.
Club. I changed all of the lights different colours and it was the most annoying thing ever. In the picture with the stairs, the left arch with the curtain goes to the miscellaneous object room and the right goes to the pub/game room.
 Game room.
 Miscellaneous room.
Also, the structure of the main house is the same, but I added a few more objects. There is toddler stuff everywhere. I also added three more book cases. They each are organised. The main fiction books go in the big one, the skill books go in the one on the right, and the toddler books go in the one on the left.
The other is on the other side of the room and can hold books written by your sims (That's what I use it for.) Or you can sell it and buy a hot tub.
I also added several new hampers around as needed so there aren't disgusting piles of clothes everywhere.

And that the house! Most of the objects are from Pets. There are a few that aren't, though.

1. The inventing table and sculpting thing are from Ambitions. So is the mirror in the master bath, I think. All of the laundry stuff is, too.
2. The bathtub is from High End Loft Stuff.
3. Nearly all of the club and pub stuff is from Late Night, as are several of the mirrors.
4. The chemistry table and the showers are from Generations.
5. The ridiculous potted plant is from World Adventures.
6. The mirror in the small flat is store content.

It is quite possible hat I have missed a couple. There are also some CC toddler items. One is a block table. Acutally, I think that's it. The paintings are the result of the amazing Plum's Painting Replacement Mod. I highly recommend it, even if I don't like all of the images. But there is a way to customise it!

I have no idea what lot this place is on, but maybe 40x40? It's pretty large and crazy expensive. If you want either version, just comment below. I'm not really making a forum page for this because frankly, those people that can build intimidate me badly.
Thanks for viewing! Swim.

  1. Ooooooh well done!! I am in LOVE with the main dining room with all the pretty drape curtains ♥ Is this a possible future house for the Donners?? I'm desperately trying to build a Gen.2 house for the Charmings but their budget is quite pathetic -_-" The exchange is still open as far as I know ^.^

    1. It's probably not a future house because the bills are like, §1500 each time. The Donners are not that rich yet. I'm glad you liked it!
